WEF's 2017 Community Service Project Site: Manierre Elementary School
Article Submitted by Natalie Cook, Vice Chair, 2017 WEF Community Service Project

This year will be the 10th Anniversary of the WEF Community Service Project! The project happens the Saturday before each WEFTEC. Over 100 students and professionals work together to construct a project that leaves a lasting mark on the water environment of our host community. Over the past ten years, projects have included bioswales, rain gardens, and green classrooms. This year's project promises to be another fun one!

The project will be at Chicago's Manierre Elementary School, where we will spend Saturday, September 30th building and planting a green classroom space and surrounding a playground with bioswales. The Community Service Project subcommittee will be working on planning and designing the project over the next 7 months, so contact Anthony Giovannone or Natalie Cook to get involved. If you are interested in making a donation to the 2017 project, contact WEF Staff, Caroline Pakenham.

We hope you will join in us in leaving a positive impact on the water environment in Chicago!
