Fellow Students & YPs!

We have an exciting volunteer opportunity for you as a part of WEFTEC this year.  We are excited to announce that the Water Environment Federation’s (WEF) Students and Young Professionals Committee (SYPC) will be organizing its Fifth Annual Water Palooza event on Friday, September 29th at Manierre Elementary School in Chicago from approximately 9:30am‐3pm (setup to begin at 7:30am; booth participants arrive at 8:30am).

The goal of Water Palooza is to engage elementary school students in hands‐on and demonstrative activities that promote the value of water and encourage students to become stewards of their own water environment. At the event, students travel in small groups to various stations to learn about the local water environment, the value of water, initiatives in their community, and how to save water and protect the environment at home.

To pull off this service opportunity, we need many volunteers to guide groups of students, assist with setup/takedown, assist with booths and rally the students upon arrival. If you are interested in supporting the event, please contact Carol Kinzer ( for more information. You can also sign up to volunteer here. We can use your help for all or part of the day. It’s a really fun and rewarding event!
